In 1772, I accepted an appointment by Massachusetts' Royal Governor Thomas Hutchinson as Clonel in Charge of Boston's Company of Cadets. This was my first exposure to military and I learned the British Army's way of thinking. In 1774 I was elected President of the Massachusetts' Provincial Congress.
I signed the Declaration of Independence and was the firts to sign. In fact as always my signature was the largest on the document. I haven't write anything important. My specific duuty in the revloution was that I was the governor of Massachusetts. I did not serve in the military during the revolution.
